Krista Starbuck

Special Education Teacher

Mrs. Starbuck was born in Shattuck, OK on January 22nd.  In high school, she attended Singapore American School, International School in the Phiillipines, and Shattuck High School.  She also graduated from NWOSU.  She has one brother, James Poindexter, and one sister, Kelly Dowell.  She has 2 dogs which are a Labrador and a Sheltie.   Mrs. Starbuck is married to Tim and he runs the family business of Ruma-Lic Liquid Feed.  They have 2 children, Kala and Grayson.  Kala is a teacher and cheer coach and is married to Marcus Mead, who is a defensive coordinator.  They live in Woodward.  Grayson is a Physical Therapist and is married to Crystal who is a Nurse Practitioner.  They have one child, Gatlin, and they live in Edmond.  In her spare time, Mrs. Starbuck enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading a good book, working in the garden, and shopping.  She enjoys cheerleading, football, basketball, and volleyball.  Her favorite TV show is “This is Us” and her favorite actor is Sterling Brown.  Her favorite foods are Mexican, Chinese, and Japanese.  She loves to eat sushi and her favorite snacks are butterfingers, reeces, and almonds.  When asked what she likes best about her job, she said, “I love teaching because education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.  Everyday is a different day and another chance to inspire a child.  To me, this is not an opportunity, it’s a challenge.”
